Biography

Dr. Sameer Salahuddin is a highly accomplished Senior Consultant in Medical Oncology with over 12 years of clinical experience in the fields of Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology. He is recognized for his expertise in comprehensive cancer care, personalized treatment planning, and his commitment to integrating advanced technologies to improve patient outcomes.

Dr. Sameer completed his MBBS from Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, followed by his Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) from 2009 to 2010. He subsequently began his oncology career as a Junior Resident in Radiation Oncology at Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram (2012–2014), where he gained a strong foundation in cancer diagnosis and treatment.

He later served as Junior Consultant and Medical Officer-in-Charge of the District Oncology and Palliative Care Programme at A. A. Rahim Memorial District Hospital, Kollam, contributing significantly to the delivery of oncology and palliative care services within the public healthcare system. To further strengthen his expertise, Dr. Sameer worked as a Junior Resident in Radiation Oncology at the KIMS Cancer Centre, Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences, before pursuing advanced super-specialty training in Medical Oncology at the renowned MVR Cancer Centre & Research Institute, Kozhikode, where he served as a Senior Resident from 2019 to 2022.

Since January 2023, Dr. Sameer has been serving as a Consultant in Medical Oncology at the Travancore Institute of Cancer Care, Travancore Medical College Hospital, Kollam, where he provides comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of solid and hematological malignancies. In addition, since September 2023, he has been serving as a Part-Time Super Specialist in Medical Oncology at ESIC Hospital, Asramam, Kollam, further extending specialized cancer care services to the community. Dr. Sameer has demonstrated exceptional leadership in establishing comprehensive oncology departments in both tertiary care private hospitals and government-funded healthcare institutions, helping to improve access to advanced cancer treatment services. His areas of interest include personalized cancer therapy, precision oncology, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, supportive oncology, and palliative care.

A passionate clinician and researcher, Dr. Sameer has a keen interest in cancer research, evidence-based oncology, and technology-driven innovations aimed at bridging gaps in cancer care.
