Biography
“Dr. Safna Hamsa is a dedicated Ophthalmologist with a DNB in Ophthalmology from Chaithanya Eye Hospital & Research Institute, Kesavadasapuram, along with specialized fellowship training in Laser and Retinal Diagnostics. She completed her MBBS from Government Medical College, Ernakulam, and has comprehensive clinical experience in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency ophthalmic care.
Her clinical expertise includes slit-lamp biomicroscopy, applanation tonometry, gonioscopy, indirect ophthalmoscopy, and advanced retinal imaging and interpretation, including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA), Fundus Fluorescein Angiography (FFA), Indocyanine Green Angiography (ICGA), and visual field assessment. She also has hands-on experience in cataract surgery, including Small Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS), pterygium excision, intravitreal injections, and ophthalmic laser procedures.
Dr. Safna has demonstrated strong academic excellence, securing Runner-Up in the KSOS Gold Medal Examination in 2025 and second prizes in ophthalmology and SACON quizzes.
