Biography

Dr. Babu Francis V. J., MBBS, MD (Paediatrics), Fellowship in Neonatology (Canberra, Australia), is a distinguished Professor of Paediatrics and Head of the Department of Neonatology with over 18 years of clinical experience in neonatal and paediatric care. He is widely recognized for his expertise in the management of critically ill and high-risk newborns, combining advanced clinical skills with compassionate, family-centered care.

After completing his MBBS and MD in Paediatrics, Dr. Babu pursued advanced Fellowship training in Neonatology in Canberra, Australia, where he gained specialized expertise in the care of premature infants, critically ill neonates, and babies requiring advanced neonatal intensive care.

As Professor of Paediatrics, Senior Consultant, and Head of the Department of Neonatology, Dr. Babu leads the neonatal services with a strong focus on clinical excellence, evidence-based practice, and multidisciplinary collaboration. His areas of expertise include the management of extremely premature infants, neonatal resuscitation, respiratory support, neonatal ventilation, neonatal infections, high-risk deliveries, developmental follow-up, and comprehensive Level III NICU care.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Babu is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, mentoring future paediatricians and neonatologists while promoting research, academic excellence, and quality improvement in neonatal care.
