Biography

Dr. Geethu Gopinath, MBBS, DNB, MNAMS, FMAS, FISCP, is an accomplished Assistant Professor in the Department of General Surgery with specialized expertise in Proctology and Minimal Access (Laparoscopic) Surgery. She is committed to providing safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered surgical care while combining advanced surgical techniques with compassionate clinical practice.

Dr. Geethu completed her MBBS, followed by DNB in General Surgery, and has earned the prestigious MNAMS (Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences). She has further enhanced her surgical expertise through Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS) and Fellowship of the International Society of Coloproctology (FISCP), enabling her to deliver advanced care for a wide range of gastrointestinal and anorectal disorders.

Her areas of expertise include the diagnosis and surgical management of haemorrhoids (piles), fissures, fistulas, pilonidal sinus, colorectal disorders, hernias, gallbladder diseases, and other general surgical conditions. She has a special interest in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, offering minimally invasive procedures that promote faster recovery, reduced postoperative pain, and shorter hospital stays.

As an Assistant Professor, Dr. Geethu actively participates in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, mentoring future surgeons while contributing to academic excellence and evidence-based surgical practice.
