Biography

Dr. Legha, MBBS, MD (General Medicine), is a distinguished Professor and Head of the Department of General Medicine with over 36 years of post-MD clinical and academic experience. She is widely respected for her expertise in Internal Medicine, her exceptional contributions to medical education, and her commitment to providing comprehensive, evidence-based patient care.

Prior to joining Travancore Medical College Hospital, Dr. Legha served for 31 years at Government Medical College, Alappuzha, where she held several academic and administrative positions. She served as Professor and Head of the Department of General Medicine for 10 years before retiring from government service, playing a pivotal role in patient care, postgraduate teaching, and departmental leadership.

Currently serving as the Professor and Head of the Department of General Medicine at Travancore Medical College Hospital, Dr. Legha continues to provide expert care for patients with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions while mentoring the next generation of physicians.

Her special areas of clinical interest include the management of diabetes mellitus and thyroid disorders. She has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine and metabolic diseases, with a strong emphasis on preventive care, lifestyle modification, and individualized treatment plans to achieve optimal long-term health outcomes.
