In observance of International Nurses Day, we celebrated the incredible dedication and compassion of our nursing team. The day was marked by a special gathering to recognize their unwavering commitment to patient care. The Chief Nursing Officer was honored during the event, and we also recognized those who have completed over 15 years of service with us. These veterans are the pillars of our institution, and we are profoundly grateful for their decade-plus journey of excellence and the many lives they have touched. In observance of World Hand Hygiene Day, the Hospital Infection Prevention Control (HIPC) Department conducted an extensive awareness campaign across all Wards, OPs, and ICUs. The initiative focused on empowering healthcare staff and caregivers with standardised hand hygiene protocols to effectively combat healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). Complementing this bedside training, Dr Nirmal Babu, Consultant, Department of Infectious Diseases, led an insightful CME session on advanced infection control practices. Together, these efforts underscore our unwavering commitment to patient safety and the maintenance of a sterile, world-class healing environment.

This state-of-the art medical imaging technology plays a crucial role in detecting cancer cells at their earliest stages, enabling timely diagnosis and significantly improving treatment outcomes. With this advanced system now available in Kollam, patients can access highly precise and efficient diagnostic services closer to home. The facility was officially inaugurated by the Honourable Minister for Finance, Government of Kerala, Sri. K. N. Balagopal. This milestone marks a major step forward in strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the region, helping doctors identify diseases faster and plan more effective, personalised treatments. The introduction of PET Scan technology represents not just a technological upgrade, but a new ray of hope for patients and families — opening doors to early detection, better clinical decisions, and improved survival rates. As part of the World Kidney Day celebration, the Department of Nephrology organised a poster competition along with a special program at the Second Floor Auditorium. The event aimed to promote awareness about kidney health, early detection, and preventive care among the public and the healthcare community. The program was graced by the Honourable MLA, Sri. M. Noushad, as the Chief Guest. Honourable Chairman Sri. A. A. Salam and Secretary Sri. Abdul Salam was also present on the occasion, adding significance to the event.  The session emphasised the importance of timely screening, proper hydration, and lifestyle modifications in preventing kidney-related diseases, reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to community health and awareness.

Rainbow 2026 – Heart of the Matter Paediatrics Cardiology Imaging  workshop was organized by the Department of Pediatrics on 22 February 2026 at Travancore Medicity under the IAP Kerala Presidential Action Plan. The workshop aimed to enhance awareness and knowledge in pediatric cardiac care through interactive sessions for healthcare professionals.Dr.Zulfikar Ahamed  consultant Cardiologist KIMS TRIVANDRUM and Dr. Jayakrishnan pediatrics cardiologist SAT TVM were the speakers.

Kollam witnesses a new era in advanced healthcare!
On 16th February 2026, Kollam’s first Advanced Cath Lab with Neuro Intervention Facility was proudly inaugurated at Travancore Medical College Hospital. The prestigious inauguration was performed by the Honourable Mayor of Kollam Corporation, Sri. A. K. Hafeez. The inaugural ceremony was graced by our Honourable Chairman, Sri. A. A. Salam, Secretary, Sri. Abdul Salam, respected Directors, senior consultants, and management members, whose presence made the occasion truly momentous. This advanced facility is equipped to deliver cutting-edge cardiac and neuro interventions with enhanced precision, safety, and faster recovery—bringing world-class treatment closer to the people of Kollam.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA), the premier association representing modern medicine doctors in India, made an official visit to Travancore Medical College Hospital. The delegation from the Indian Medical Association Kerala State Branch, led by State President Dr. M. N. Menon and State Secretary Dr. Roy R. Chandran, was accompanied by Kollam District office bearers Dr. Ramakrishnan S. and Dr. Biju Nelson. During the visit, the team held detailed discussions regarding the challenges faced by doctors in delivering patient care—issues that ultimately impact the quality and accessibility of healthcare for the general public.The program was followed by an engaging interactive session attended by nearly 110 consultants, including senior and junior doctors. On the occasion, Dr. Nazimudeen E., Dr. M. P. Radhakrishnan, and Dr. Judy Mary Kurian addressed the gathering, sharing their perspectives and reaffirming the institution’s commitment to ethical medical practice and collaborative professional growth.
