അമെനോറിയ
ആർത്തവം വരാതിരിക്കുന്ന അവസ്ഥയാണ് അമെനോറിയ . പ്രൈമറി, സെക്കൻഡറി എന്നീ രണ്ട് തരം
അമെനോറിയകളുണ്ട്. 15 വയസ്സിനു മുകളിലുള്ള ഒരാൾക്ക് ആദ്യത്തെ ആർത്തവം ഉണ്ടാകാതിരിക്കുന്നതാണ് പ്രൈമറി അമെനോറിയ എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. മൂന്ന് മാസത്തിൽ കൂടുതൽ ആർത്തവം വരാതിരിക്കുമ്പോഴാണ് സെക്കൻഡറി അമെനോറിയ ഉണ്ടാകുന്നത്. ഗർഭത്തിന്റെ അഭാവത്തിൽ അമെനോറിയയുടെ സാധാരണ കാരണങ്ങൾ ഇവയാണ്:
- ചില ഗർഭനിരോധന മാർഗങ്ങളുടെയോ ഗുളികകളുടെയോ ഉപയോഗം
- കാൻസറിനുള്ള കീമോ/ റേഡിയേഷൻ തെറാപ്പി
- മാനസിക സമ്മർദ്ദം
- പോഷകാഹാരക്കുറവ്.
- ഭാരത്തിലെ മാറ്റങ്ങൾ – ശരീരഭാരം അമിതമായ കുറയുന്നു/വർദ്ധിക്കുന്നു
- അമിത വ്യായാമം
- ശരീരത്തിലെ ഹോർമോൺ വ്യതിയാനങ്ങൾ
- തലച്ചോറിലെയോ അണ്ഡാശയത്തിലെയോ പ്രതേക തരം ട്യൂമറുകൾ
Amenorrhea
Amenorrhea is the absence of menstruation. There are two types of amenorrhea: primary and secondary. Primary amenorrhea is when a person above the age of 15 does not have their first period. Secondary amenorrhea occurs when menstruation does not occur for more than three months. Common causes of amenorrhea are:
• Use of certain contraceptive methods or pills
• Chemotherapy and radiation therapy for cancer
• Stress
• Malnutrition.
• Changes in weight – excessive weight loss/gain
• Excessive exercise
